WHAT ARE THEY?
Support groups at Survivor Wellness provide opportunities for cancer survivors and their family members, friends or caregivers to come together and provide support to one another. Groups help to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals to talk through feelings, to share experiences, challenges and frustrations, and to give and receive advice on managing various cancer-related issues.
These experiences can help people with cancer—and others who are affected by it—to feel more hopeful. Joining a group can may help to improve quality of life and survival by learning how to deal with practical problems and how to better cope with the side effects of cancer treatment.
