GROUP SUPPORT
Support comes in many forms. Being in a group of our peers brings us closer, allows “healing in community”, and provides perspective on our own situation.
At Survivor Wellness, there are ample opportunities for peer & community support, conversation groups, and activities such as walking and gardening together.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPORT GROUP: This facilitated peer support group is held each Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30pm in the 59 House (the house with the red door). Open to any adult who has received a diagnosis, as well as their caregiver, family member or friend. No reservation needed - drop-in. Please note: the last Wednesday of each month is a pot luck - come to be nourished, or to nourish others!
CAREGIVERS’ GROUP: This facilitated peer support group is held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings, concurrent with the Wednesday Night Support Group in the 59 House. Caregivers join the main group until 6pm, when they move to a nearby living room for the one-hour caregiver-specific group. Open to any caregiver, family member or friend of a person who has received a diagnosis. No reservation needed - drop-in.
GRIEF & HEALING GROUP: This group is currently on pause; please see the Schedule page for special sessions addressing Grief & Healing! Members only. Reservation required.
COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS GROUP: held two Tuesday evenings per month from 5:30-7pm in the Cottage behind the houses. This group is open to cancer survivors, caregivers and the general public, and is an opportunity for “deep talk” on a variety of topics relevant to living life. Members and non-members invited. Reservation recommended - drop-in okay.
WALKING GROUP: held at Red Butte Garden each Sunday from 11am-12pm. Meet near the front desk of the visitors center at Red Butte Garden at 11am). A Survivor Wellness volunteer leader will meet you and check you in, and guide the walk. Members and their invited guests only. Reservation required (if there are no reservations, the volunteer leader will not be there.)
GARDEN GROUP: held in the gardens of Survivor Wellness from April-October - seeking interested members! Please contact our office to participate.
