Join a community of survivors and caregivers to give and receive support. Meetings are held weekly or biweekly.
All support groups are available on a walk-in basis at no cost to members and non-members who are impacted by cancer.

Community Events
Survivor Wellness hosts events to honor and celebrate those impacted by cancer, and offer an opportunity to gather together, to heal in community.
Free and paid events available, with a reduced cost for enrolled members.

GROUP SUPPORT

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPORT GROUP: held each Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30pm in the 59 House (open to any person who has received a diagnosis, as well as their caregiver, family member or friend)
CAREGIVERS’ GROUP: held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm in the 59 House, concurrent with the Wednesday Night Support Group (open to any caregiver, family member or friend of a person who has received a diagnosis)
GRIEF & HEALING GROUP: held one to two Thursday evenings per month from 6:30-8pm in the 59 House (virtual option available upon request)
COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS GROUP: held two Tuesday evenings per month from 5:30-7pm in the Cottage (community members welcome to join)
WALKING GROUP: held at Red Butte Garden each Sunday from 11am-12pm (Meet at the front desk of the visitors center at Red Butte Garden at 11am). A staff member will meet you and check you in, and guide the walk.
GARDEN GROUP: held in the gardens of Survivor Wellness from April-October - stay tuned for the 2025 program!
INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
Individual Counseling, Peer Support and Life Coaching help you navigate life with and beyond a diagnosis and treatment.
For cancer survivors as well as their caregivers. Booked on a needs-based system, these sessions require additional paperwork, including completion of a Member Profile and Wellness Plan. Contact our offices to get started.
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING: Survivor Wellness offers counseling services provided by MSW interns who are supervised by licensed Clinical Social Workers. Members are required to complete a Member Profile and Wellness Plan before scheduling counseling sessions.
PEER SUPPORT: The Peer Support Program connects those who are newly-diagnosed with mentors who are further along in their cancer journey. Members are required to complete a Member Profile and Peer Support Agreement before connecting with a mentor.
EMBODIED LIFE COACHING: Through a combination of interactive conversation and easeful movement, our certified Life Coach (and Qigong instructor), Lisa, helps members navigate their next steps in life. Members may book single or multiple sessions.
Survivor Wellness does not provide therapy, nor diagnose and treat mental health issues. Survivor Wellness does not provide crisis support. For emergencies, please dial 911 or contact the mental health hotline by dialing 988.
THERAPEUTIC WELLNESS SERVICES

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY: Our certified Craniosacral Therapist, Aubree, provides gentle sessions to support health and healing via light tough and easeful manipulation of limbs. A craniosacral therapy session is held with the client fully-clothed while resting on a massage table.
DEEP HEALING SKINCARE: Our certified Oncology Esthetician, Colette, addresses skincare issues associated with cancer treatment, working on the face, head, neck, shoulders, arms, hand and feet. A skincare session is held with the client fully-clothed while resting on a massage table.
MASSAGE THERAPY: Our licensed Massage Therapist, Kiera, is trained in oncology-specific techniques for those undergoing and beyond cancer treatment. A massage therapy session is held on a massage table with appropriate draping for the client’s comfort.
REIKI SESSIONS: Our certified Reiki providers, Meg and Monalisa, use light touch, sound and awareness to gently stimulate healing from inside and increase flow of life force. A reiki session is held with the client fully-clothed while resting on a massage table.
YOGA/SOMATIC MOVEMENT THERAPY: Our certified Yoga & Somatic Movement Therapist (and Executive Director) Dana works via dynamic interaction to address bio-psycho-social or body-mind-spirit issues to enhance self-awareness through a combination of movement, stillness, static poses, relaxation, and mindfulness practices. Different from a traditional yoga class, yoga therapy is an opportunity to co-create a healing practice for yourself. A yoga therapy session is held in the yoga studio, and the client is recommended to wear comfortable clothes that they can move easily in. There is no need for special gear or prior knowledge of yoga.
GROUP WELLNESS CLASSES

QIGONG CLASS: Our Level 2 Holden Qigong certified instructor, Carlos, teaches weekly Qigong classes. Qigong, pronounced “chee-gong” means “to cultivate one’s life force. Classes include gentle movement and breath, and can be done standing or seated. Enrolled members are requested to RSVP for classes by 24 or more hours prior to the class.
STRONGER THAN CANCER: Our certified Foundation Training instructor, Andrew, teaches this bodyweight-based strength-training class to help revitalize and empower members who are ready for a more active, engaging fitness experience. Enrolled members are requested to RSVP for classes by 24 or more hours prior to the class.
BLISSED OUT BREATHWORK: Our certified breathwork instructor, Angie, tailors this class so members develop greater breath awareness and breath control to increase health and healing. Enrolled members are requested to RSVP for classes by 24 or more hours prior to the class.
HEALING SOUND BATH: Our sound bath provider, Shanti, creates an atmosphere of relaxation using sound bowls, chimes, and other instruments as you rest on a nest of cushions, blankets and yoga mat and the waves of sound envelop you. Enrolled members are requested to RSVP for classes by 24 or more hours prior to the class.
